What Barrier 80 & Barrier Zinc Epoxy Range is for
Barrier is Jotun's family of zinc-rich epoxy primers for carbon steel. The zinc dust gives galvanic (sacrificial) protection under the following coats, so these primers suit severe industrial and coastal atmospheres.
"Barrier 80" is now a family of variants rather than one product. Jotun lists Barrier 80 S, Barrier 80 XT, Barrier 80 WF and Barrier 80 X, alongside Barrier, Barrier 77 and Barrier Smart Pack. We don't assume a variant. Send us your specification or exposure and we'll confirm which one fits, with availability and lead time.

Limitations to check
- Jotun describes these variants as atmospheric primers. They are not general immersion coatings.
- Performance depends on the full system (primer, midcoat and topcoat) and on surface preparation to the TDS.
- Variants differ in curing agent, solids and drying. Don't swap one for another without checking the specification.
