The Challenge

Standard coatings shatter in the cold.

Cryogenic applications represent some of the most extreme coating challenges in industry. Liquefied natural gas, liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen infrastructure operate below −150°C, sometimes as low as −196°C. Standard coatings become brittle, crack, peel and lose adhesion — exposing steel to corrosion and creating safety hazards.

JOTACOTE F60 is engineered specifically for this environment. It maintains flexibility and bond strength across the full cryogenic range, protecting underlying steel through every thermal cycle.

Why VeldCoat for Cryogenic

Cryogenic work is specialised. Not every supplier stocks JOTACOTE F60 or understands its critical application. We maintain inventory of the cryogenic system and can advise on surface preparation, DFT targets and inspection requirements. For LNG and cryogenic infrastructure projects in southern Africa, we're the local expert.

FAQ

Cryogenic essentials.

Absolutely not. Standard epoxy becomes brittle and loses adhesion at extreme cold. JOTACOTE F60 is specifically formulated with additives that maintain flexibility and bond strength across the full cryogenic temperature range. Using anything else risks coating failure and safety hazards.
