What Hardtop AX is for
Hardtop AX is a two-component, aliphatic acrylic polyurethane. Jotun markets it as a robust, low-VOC, high-gloss finish that combines mechanical toughness and chemical resistance with durable gloss and colour retention.
It goes over compatible primers and midcoats on structural steel, plant, bridges, buildings and equipment, wherever the finish has to keep its colour outdoors.

- Topcoat over compatible epoxy primers and midcoats
- Refineries, power plants, bridges, buildings and industrial structures
- Equipment and steelwork that needs a lasting coloured finish
Limitations to check
- An atmospheric topcoat for compatible coated surfaces. It is not a primer or an immersion coating.
- Bright colours may need the upper DFT range for full opacity.
- Peak heat is limited to one hour, and appearance may change at elevated temperatures.
