What Hardtop Clear is for
Hardtop Clear is a two-component, aliphatic acrylic polyurethane clearcoat. It gives a transparent, glossy finish with excellent gloss retention and good chemical resistance.
It is applied thin (10–20 µm) as the final layer of a polyurethane system, or over epoxy and epoxy-mastic systems, to protect the appearance of the coat beneath.
Typical applications
- Clear finish within polyurethane systems
- Over compatible epoxy and epoxy-mastic coats
- Atmospheric exposure on compatible coated surfaces
Limitations to check
- A thin clearcoat. It does not add barrier protection or replace a pigmented topcoat.
- Apply over compatible coatings only, in atmospheric service.
- Peak heat is limited to one hour.
